Derek Stevenson Bidding The Foundation A Fond Farewell

Working for the Rozsa Foundation has been an absolute dream, and I can’t say enough positive things about the organization, the people, and the work that has been done.

The arts community of Alberta is aware of the impact the Foundation has had in terms of granting, research, professional development and advocacy, but what makes this organization so special are the people. The spirit of the organization still holds true to the legacy left by Drs. Ted and Lola Rozsa, and the vision has continued to grow and expand under the leadership of Mary Rozsa de Coquet and Simon Mallett. The entire office team are incredible; Ainsley, Geraldine and Kim are so dedicated and passionate about the work of the Foundation and the impact we can have on the arts community, it was a pleasure to be a part of such a strong cohesive team.

I was thrilled to get the opportunity to take the Rozsa Arts Management Program (RAMP) as a young arts administrator, teach the Rozsa Admin Fundamentals Training (RAFT) program in three communities to over eighty participants, and be a part of two cohorts of the Rozsa Executive Arts Leadership (REAL) program with twenty arts leaders. I have learned so much from the instructors, facilitators, and alumni of our programs, and I can’t wait to see what is next for the Foundation and the professional development programs. If you are hesitating at all to take one of our programs, don’t - they truly are an incredible opportunity for career and personal growth.

Thanks again to everyone I worked with the past two years, and I can’t wait to work with you all again in my new role with the ATB Branch for Arts and Culture!
